Hello

Mission Statement

The Worship and Spiritual Development Ministry Circle nurtures the spiritual life of the congregation through richly layered worship experiences and opportunities for growth and learning that engage all ages and stages of faith. Rooted in humility and guided by God’s call, we seek to create spaces where worship, reflection, and education intersect in meaningful and life-giving ways.

“And what does the Lord require of you? To … walk humbly with your God.” — Micah 6:8

What We Do
This Circle shapes the heart of our spiritual community—planning and supporting worship, educational programs, and faith-forming experiences that help us encounter God in many ways.

  • Worship Services and Rituals: Plan weekly and seasonal worship; offer contemplative and creative forms of prayer; design rituals that mark life’s milestones.

  • Intergenerational Education & Spiritual Growth: Create learning opportunities where children, youth, adults, and elders grow with and from one another. We support Bible studies, book groups, retreats, hands-on learning, and programs designed for shared exploration across generations.

  • Youth Engagement: Actively participate in the Salem Youth Collective, nurturing a collaborative, community-wide approach to youth spiritual formation, belonging, and leadership.

  • Hybrid & Accessible Learning: Provide both in-person and online worship and educational experiences to meet people wherever they are.

  • Collaboration & Innovation: Partner with other ministry circles and local faith communities to strengthen ecumenical relationships and broaden opportunities for shared worship and spiritual formation.

Our Vision
We envision a spiritually vibrant congregation where worship transforms lives, learning deepens faith, and people of every generation discover new ways to walk humbly with God in love and service.

Spiritual Development Opportunities

Whether you want a deep dive into a theological book, a meditation session, or an online study of scripture, we seek to offer a range of opportunities for all ages as we learn together what it means to be followers of Jesus.

Feel called to participate with worship or spiritual development?

Whether you love music, liturgy, prayer, study, or intergenerational learning, your gifts can help bring our worship and spiritual life to fullness. Together, we create space for wonder, gratitude, connection, and growth, encountering the Holy in community and in the world around us.

Calling all High School Youth

Are you looking for a place to be real, talk about what you’re carrying, and learn tools that help you feel more at ease in your life?

You’re invited to join our growing Salem Youth Mental Health Group for high school youth—a non-sectarian, non-clinical space where students in grades 9–12 can talk honestly about what’s real and learn together.

The group meets about twice a month and is facilitated by caring adults who help guide respectful dialogue. Together, we explore communication styles, healthy boundaries, empathetic listening, and self-regulation.

Conversations may range from faith and politics to living with depression or navigating peer pressure, as we learn and grow in our mental health journeys.
